08, Sad goodbye to group 1 – Africa live 2013

Hi all.

A relaxed afternoon with a longer break in the middle due to Patrick our guide needing to place his vote in the upcoming elections. It has been a quiet morning but more on that when the blog reaches today, so to speak!

This entry says a sad, fond farewell to the first workshop group. They have been superb and a real pleasure to share the Mara with. Our last drive was an eventful one with some great light. So, without further ramblings, here are the images!!

A very distinctive outline, this chap came very close to the vehicle before we made a well timed retreat as he clearly wasn’t going to move aside for us!

A frequent sight in the Mara for those up early.

We clearly weren’t the only ones enjoying the sunrise!

Not a stalk to kill, but Lions and Buffalo don’t get on shall we say. This section of the pride walking was 9 strong and easily saw off the Buffalo who clearly wanted to stand his ground, but sized up the odds and made the good choice of a quick retreat!

Super amazing thanks to Russ, Mandy, Mike, Jackie, Dorothy and Linda (aka group 1) for being such a pleasure! Also to Joseph, Daniel, Cat, Charles and the whole Kicheche Mara team. You are as much a part of the trip as the animals and it is always great to be hosted by your good selves! Daniel and Joseph were top ‘notch’ (haha, in joke!) as usual and really work miracles as our guides for the trip.
