More from Africa live with our latest update!
The Olaro Motorogi Conservancy continues to present exciting opportunities and we continue to exploit them as best as possible.
Fig put in a fantastic morning appearance with us getting ahead of the crowd again and the thankful return of good old Acacia a month or two after of disappearing off the radar.
The sun is making a solid appearance now and I am settling back into the vibe of rushing around for that first golden 15 mins when the light is at its best.
Out early as always and pre sunrise we came across this chap. Clearly looking for the rest of the pride an not sure where they were. Not to worry as they are heard from many miles away when they call to each other.

A super quick grab shot. He disappeared into the lower river area and out of nowhere reappeared right before us.
After our first half of the morning drive, we parked up for breakfast where we found a huge line of ants making their way across the plains. We followed the line on foot for a few mins and still didn’t find the start! Amazing.
We set off and started our rounds in our Leopard area looking for Fig and Acacia. As luck would have it we didn’t have to look for long before we found Fig; out in the open we firstly secured a few ‘in the bag’ shots before we decided to take a risk and get low and ahead. We thought she was heading down to the water so we fired up the engine, left the rest of the cars too it and made our way over, fingers firmly crossed.
We always try and anticipate rather than react and when it does come off it is always something special in situations like this.
Our luck was in and our risk paid off as he came right at us and for once we had time to compose and think ahead of the moment!

As we had parked up and were quiet and already in place, there was no reason for us to be avoided. This look told me we were in for a close encounter!
A great encounter and with that we made our way onwards.
Back out in the afternoon and we finally found our missing Leopard! Acacia was here and very much alive which was a big relief to us as she had not been seen for quite some time. We at first thought this was Fig again as it was at some distance and in the shade, but as our view improved it became clear who it was!
And with the sun set, sun downers consumed we made our way back to camp for dinner! See you tomorrow guys and gals.
Thanks for reading folks!. Please do head over to facebook and/or twitter if you have any questions or just to say hi. I really do appreciate it!
