Hi all, keeping up the pace with the blog I am back with the latest images.
This time I’m rounding off the day where we left off. We had a very quiet afternoon animal wise as everything we came across was asleep/hidden or simply not in the mood. All is never lost though and we were far from unhappy with our results as this magical sky unfolded when the afternoon slowly turned to evening.
I made the decision to leave the wildlife pursuits for the present time so we could get high and open in the hopes the drama continued to increase up above.

Our first glimpse of what was to come. We were in the open, but I knew that we would bet a far better show up on the ridge. One nod to Patrick and we were off.

The Mara has a reputation for it’s dramatic skies but today took things to the next level. Gorgeous shapes and tones all around us.

As the sun descended below the cloud line, the colours burst out. As time goes by I am developing my B&W style more and more (as you may be able to tell) but this shot just screamed colour!

A quick panoramic stitch of the vista around us. I shall be posting a large scrollable version of this soon once I have the presentation software chosen that works properly for the web.
And as the sun vanished and the display turned into a dark blue mass we glugged our sundowners and headed for camp.
It can get you down a little on days that the wildlife just seems to be working against you, but the Mara usually has something up it’s sleeve and is why it holds such a special place in my heart and shows you should never head home early.
Until next time good people and thanks as always. Please do share any thoughts or questions on my Facebook page.
When I reach the end of the blog for this trip I will be posting an in depth overview of the best 5 or so images from Africa Live so far. If you have favourite, let me know! I will be putting together a concise gallery of the images from the last years as well.
Rich.
